gran turismo 2 looks better than ever with its upgraded graphics engine (that’ll be introduced on the playstation 2.) the creators of the original game have done a great job toning down the gratuitous polygons while giving the car models a unique 3d style. my one complaint is that the framerate drops a bit too often while racing, but only when the light is on, and youll notice that a lot less cars are in frame. anyone concerned that ‘big’ car tracks like laguna seca and bridge will now be brought to the diminutive scale of the original should rest easy, as the developers have created separate ‘laguna seca’ and ‘bridge’ versions of the track for gt2. that’s right, real bridges and cyclones will be represented on the game-play-scaled courses.
The car creator is one of the longest running side hobbies I have, and the only one that turned into a serious endeavor on my part. The release of GT5 was a pleasant surprise to me for a few reasons, though for the most part it wasnt a direct reflection of Sony’s games as much as it was the excess of tools, modifications and customizability that was available, even at the time. If you were game for making your own gran tursimo car by making a car.exe and loading it up into the editor, well, lots of people were.
Which brings up another point, whether or not Gran Turismo 5 would come on a PC or a PS3, is this was what you were saying, bringing it to these platforms to makes them become more powerful? Even if you’re not working on a modded version of a game, simply having the game be able to be driven by a user on a real system, such as the PS3 or the PS4, would probably make them more powerful, and open up a greater range of options than they have on a hacked console. Also what about a PC controlled on a console, it seems like that would make the developers more powerful. Im just pointing out that to me it seems like its more about powering you, rather than making you into more powerful.
PSP racing games arent quite on the same level as console games when it comes to authenticity, but Gran Turismo 2 doesn t hold back on the authenticity. It s now in full 3D and runs on the PSP s hardware, and almost everything in the game is truly there. This lets GT2 feel like a fully-fledged game when compared to other PSP racers that are still in the stage of making the jump to full 3D. Anyway, that s not all that there is to Gran Turismo 2. Thanks to the PSP s non-standard display, GT2 was made to take advantage of the hardware and look great while doing it.
